How work is Measured?

• Work can be measured using following work measurement techniques - 

• Stopwatch Time Study 
• Production Time Study​ 

• Work Sampling  
• PMTS (Predetermined Motion Time Standards) 

Production Time Study is a technique for studying work methods –  

• The minimum length of a production study is half a day or half a shift. 

• Results and conclusion should be filed with the set-up. 

• Assessments of utilization of equipment or employees may be made using activity sampling. 

• the accuracy may be predetermined and selected by the practitioner before the study begins. 

• Observe the Manufacturing Process. 

• Decide on a Fixed Beginning and Ending Point. 

• Break the Manufacturing Process into Steps and Determine Their Beginning and End Points. 

• Record Your Data.
